Old hotel with excelent loco ,breakfast ok,necesary to reduce bad smell from bathrooms..
Breakfast was excellent, any room was comfortable. Oliver on the staff was super friendly. The hot tub was not heated and the bathroom amenities could have been a little better, to get the final star. But overall, a very nice stay.
Charming hotel with everything a traveller could want. The hotel itself is beautiful and ideally located. The breakfast is good; there's a warm swimming pool with nice sauna and jacuzzi. The staff are friendly and helpful. We can't imagine staying anywhere else -- highly recommend!
Had a great stay here. Big rooms, beautiful view from the balcony. Nice pool. Really helpful staff with renting a car and tips. Nice breakfast with options.

Charming hotel
Clean throughout and wonderful staff, a little old fashioned in places and shows its age, however this adds to the charm. We would definitely return.

Great location, disappointing amenities
Mixed bag. Rooms are run down, the Internet is barely usable, the hot tub was cold but the location is great!

Hotel Monopol
This hotel is a little gem, steeped in history and very central. The internal lounge area with it's palms and exotic plants is wonderful. I would recommend this hotel so long as you are not looking for luxury. There are lovely views from many rooms and the pool is good. Shame they don't offer tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Fixtures and fittings are sadly just looking a bit tired.
It's an old building and a rolling upgrade is being slowly rolled out. Overall, it's a bit worn but comfortable. Quite a decent breakfast is included.

Charming, striking and eclectic! Yes, some of the rooms are «old fashioned», not every surface squeeky clean, and the breakfast was ok, but this 100 year old hotel really is worth a few days of your visit to Puerto de la Cruz. The hotel is not for everyone, but if you want something very unique, choose Hotel Monopol! Sitting on our balcony in the mornings, listening to the chanting from the church, and enjoying the buzzing of the town square at night - just amazing! Close to «everything», surrounded by nice restaurants and shops, close to the public swimmingpools (which was great!), and with helpful and friendly staff - we recommend this hotel warmly!
Excellent location in the heart of Old Town and street performers outside front door! Rooms quite small but great closet space. Our room had some street noise apparent. Breakfast very good value and nice view. Interior of Hotel very lovely but rooms could use updating especially mattress and huge, stiff pillows!

Excellent location, excellent staff. The breakfast was great and it's a really beautiful place. The rooms couldn't probably do with a slight facelift but it's part of the charm and they're clean, which matters more. I had to switch rooms a few nights in because there was a major leak in the bathroom, these things happen. More importantly, the staff were so helpful and ensured my replacement room had an equally good view. The balcony rooms are 100% worth it. I had such a good time staying here and I've stayed at 5 different hotels in the area. It has a traditional feel, it's family run and there's so much history.
Lovely staff and location!!!! Lobby got character bring you to old good Spain. Room clean to standard. On Breakfast you got everything, nice and delicious. There's Lovely swimming pool and other facilities. If they update rooms one day definitely price will get double.
Thank you for everything.
