Pros: - Steps away from the beach - Family room is large and I liked that it was on the ground floor. If the kids ran outside, we weren't concerned that they would fall down a set of stairs - The fish tacos and tuna tostadas were excellent Cons: - It was difficult to make reservations for the restaurant; they never had enough seats for our party of 5. For a family of 5, we would've had to eat at 8:30 or 9pm. - Not enough umbrellas or shaded areas around the "kids pool". You had to wake up at 5am (if not earlier) to secure a spot with your beach towel or else you wouldn't get an area around the pool. Half the time, people placed towels and didnt even show up to their chairs until much later in the day! - The wifi was incredibly spotty and in the room, we had no cell service at all - The entertainment was lacking - There was no common area for both adults and kids (board games, etc). You'd have to wait until 9pm to use the pool table as an adult in the teen room. The child room was for kids aged 2-12 but it was geared more towards younger children so my 11 year old had to lie and go into the teen room.

Overall a great stay! Not a massive resort which is nice. Cleanliness was good - I would say the hotel rooms could use a better wipe down on like the actual furniture and cabinets. Public bathrooms around resort were super clean, lady was always cleaning them. Food at the buffet was good, always something to eat and enjoy. Would say the service at the buffets wasn’t always great, sometimes could sit for your whole meal without speaking to a server for coffee. The adult pool had alot of residue in it which was a bit gross, there’s foam parties that happen in it so I’m sure that’s what contributes to it. The Japanese restaurant was fantastic! Would recommend booking a few dinners there. Service in restaurants was also great. Overall cute place, overall friendly staff and had whatever you needed. Would recommend and stay again.

Had to save seats at the pool by 7AM or you didn’t get one. Only got room service/clean towels if you called and asked. Food was ok but the specialty restaurants that needed reservations were booked evernight. We only were able to eat at two restaurants in a 5 night stay. Some even had 1/3 of the tables open. Pool was nice. Beach was nice Need to do something different with restaurant reservations!

We had a nice stay at the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta. We don't typically stay at all-inclusive resorts anymore, but we wanted to find a place that was close to our friends who live in Mexico. This also gave us an opportunity to invite friends from Canada to join us. When we first arrived, we were given one of the old rooms in a building that had not undergone "upgrades". This is not what we expected based on the photos we saw online. When we brought this to the attention of Expedia and the resort's management, they arranged to move us to one of the renovated rooms "the next day". We are grateful for the excellent service from both Expedia and the resort. The staff were accommodating and checked in with us daily afterwards. Their attention to detail and willingness to support us were truly appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to families travelling with children. We will continue to book our travel through Expedia. This experience reminded us why the support from Expedia is important - and valued. Thank you!

Everything was great. Wish they would remove the towels at night, because finding chairs in the morning by the pool or ocean was a big issue. People would reserve them their whole stay and most were even used. That was frustrating.

The Altitude club is not worth the money. When you arrive you check in below the lobby in a separate room. There are no signs, no directions so make sure you ask in the lobby. The only perk was getting dinner reservations. The room we had was clean. But the shower head leaked above the ceiling and the sheetrock was saturated and would drip down into the shower. The handle on our sink in the bathroom broke off with the water running and our air conditioner made the room smell like something was burning most nights. Our room was also under the pool for the sky bar so there was always water dripping down on our balcony. If you like to have water in your mini bar make sure you stop at the lobby bar on your way back to your room and bring some with you because they don't stock the fridge. The booze you get with the upgrade for the Altitude club isn't much better than what everyone else gets. If you like to start your day with a drink (ie. Cesar, Screwdriver) whatever your flavor the bars don't open until 11. So maybe start your lunch with a drink. The buffet food is pretty tough to eat. If it was hot it would help greatly. The only time we had hot food at the buffet was breakfast. The pools are in dire need of repair especially the pool at the sky bar. If you want a seat around most of the pool areas you will need to get your towels out early especially around the family pools. The staff was the best part of this hotel. If you are planning a trip I would stay somewhere else.

Beds were terrible, hard, to small. Staff makes too much noise very early in the morning. Wrong directions for excursions. Adult pool should be named stinkey pee pool. Buffet was not great. Buffet staff not very friendly. Would like more activity around the property.

Great resort for families, and they have a separate pool area for adults. Resort is in need of some renovation but it’s in a great location and the price is good.

We definitely thought we were getting something better than we actually got given the price we paid. Reservations for the restaurants on site were almost impossible to get. We were told when we got there that no reservations were available for the next 2 - 3 days and that typically reservations need to be made 3 days in advance which makes no sense if your not already there. So we are buffet O for the first 2 days and the food was 2/5, plus none of the food was hot given that was on burners. Our best meal at the buffet was the omelet for breakfast which we ate everyday. Also the fish tacos are pretty decent too besides the fish being saturated in grease Now onto the room. The pictures are very misleading and makes seem like the room is larger than it actually is. It felt very motelish to me especially for the price we paid. Still grateful for it but definitely not what we were expecting. Overall 3/5 but staff and the adult pool made up for it the slightest bit. Definitely better options out there even if you want to budget personally I feel like.

Had a really great stay here with family friends and children large pools activities going on at night food was very good just hard to get into the a la carte restaurants so we were only able to do that one evening out of our seven the staff are lovely especially the poolside staff

We had issues with our room. The tv had black lines running down the screen so the kids didn’t enjoy watching the tv. Aldo the phones were down so in order to get any service we had to go to reception. When we told the lady at reception regarding the phones she very rudely told us that we had to use whatsapp to request services such as room service or anything. When i told her I didn’t have the app so what could i do she said well i can’t help you then. We dealt with it for 2 days. On the third day we found a roach it the bathroom. Needless to say we did not have a good experience here. Even though we were moved to a different room after it still soured the experience for us. Other than that the pool was nice but closes at 8pm daily. The food at the buffet is was average. Definitely book the restaurants instead if you can find a reservation available.

2 wings of the Building is a bit old, while the central one in front is newer. The pool was beautiful and clean as the staff were on-top of their duties. However, the food was poor, especially the restaurants that required booking (Hacienda). The buffet was ok with nothing spectacular. We kept going back there as it had more options and we could mix the meals with some sauces to add taste. I've had better meals at other all-inclusive resorts.

This is definitely an older hotel. The pool is large and nice (although there is black grout along the top that needs to be cleaned). However it was very annoying getting a spot at the pool as many people put their towels down and then go elsewhere taking up the majority of the pool chairs by 9am. It was easier finding a chair at the beach, which we preferred anyways. The à la carte restaurants were good, and the Mexican was the tastiest. The breakfast buffet was good but dinner and lunch could be dicey, it was disappointing there was never fresh guacamole which is what every resort on the Riviera Maya side I have been to had. There wasn’t a lot of Mexican food at the buffet at all unfortunately. The fish tacos at the grill were very good and a go to almost every day. Overall, the staff were nice but most did not go above and beyond, the pool and beach were good but the hotel needs upgrades and some more amenities as there were always line ups for everything and the buffet got very crowded with no real signage as to which direction people should go. We had a fun time, but I don’t think I would return as this resort didn’t really stand out in comparison to others.
