The staff was very courteous. Everything seemed in great shape and newly painted. The bar staff around the pool worked very hard every hour of every day. The food staff was great also.

Room was not in good condition, all 3 rooms we had smelled of mold, were dirty and one of them had an active leak under the bathroom sink. 2 of us got sick immediately after spending the night in the rooms. The hallways smell of mold, the window coverings are trashed and don’t cover the windows like they should. They only provided 3 towels total for 2 people and if you ask for more, they want to replace the ones you have, not give you any extra. The showers are missing doors, so water just gets all over the floor when you shower. There are 2 pools, only one of them is open to “regular” guests, the other pool and only hot tub is only for “royal” people…but rarely used while we were there. Most of The staff seemed irritated that we were there. Food was good. I would not recommend anyone to stay here until it’s remodeled.

One of the best resorts I've stayed at. Entertainment staff was amazing. Food and drinks were fantastic. Planning on coming back next year.

Would have 5 stars if we did not get moved after first two nights . Room was filled with sewer smell . Was vey bad . They might bed us to another room and all went well from there . We decided to do Royal Upgrade and it was worth it . Menu choices were all minimal at all restaurants. But prepared well. Buffets were your usual fair. Breakfast on the Royal Level was fantastic. Service from Antonio/Marisol above and beyond expectations. This resort also has two small pools and could use another one .

The food was great. Not a lot of selection if you eat halal food but the staff and the area was amazing. The staff were super friendly, the buffet and restaurants were great. Alberto in the front desk helped us a lot, if you go there definitely go see him. The only bad thing I would say is the swimming pool smelt bad some days.

Excelente atención, por ser gold members de expedía nos dieron ascensos en varias cosas, mejor habitación, acceso a mejor restaurante, varias reservaciones en los restaurantes a la carta etc, la verdad la atención del personal es muy buena, no solo con los extranjeros como en otros hoteles, la comida muy rica, habitaciones cómodas, nos la pasamos muy bien

We have been going to the Occidental for almost 20 years, so we’ve seen lots of changes. The food is very good, we only eat at the buffet. The other restaurants are iffy. The older part of the hotel is so worn out that on the first day, my showerhead flew off. They kind of fixed the next day. It flew off again, so I fixed it a few days later the shower handle fell off on my foot. Awesome, the service elevator on our side are rum made way too much noise. The original building is really really tired. The pool area has a lot of cracks in the concrete And is quite filthy. The entertainment people must all be deaf because they blast the music so loud that you cannot have a conversation at a normal level around the pool it’s OK if you’re drunk got him met. The staff sure are good except for the ones that work in the Outside restaurant I suggest if you stay there you pony up for the premium rooms that are much newer, however I’ve heard complaints from people staying there, but I can’t confirm because I’ve never stayed in that part of the hotel. I would rate this as a three star hotel with good food Because that’s where it really is now the beach out front is great for walking. However, the beach chairs are seriously dirty and that’s why they give you towels to cover them up. It really doesn’t matter what I say here because nothing will change again generally great staff at a poor worn out hotel.

I stayed in your resort last year and have noticed that this year your food quality declined. The buffet options were very limited, almost the same choices every day. Also your Tokyo restaurant used to use good products for the cooking table, like real butter, fresh rice, etc., however this year they used oils and left over rice. The buffet needed to be reminded every day to include gluten free items and mark the meals if GF- why not make it a must ?

This is a very good hotel. Cleaning staff is excellent. Water, coffee, beer, chips, peanuts in the room frisge always replenished. Had a great view from our balcony on 6th floor.

We have been to this hotel many times, but unfortunately this time it was not as good. Just little things but they make all the difference. The service in the buffets was not nearly good enough even when they weren't busy. The Italian restaurant has gone from truly wonderful to very ordinary. The Mexican restaurant also has a poorer menu than before. Service here was bad as they were trying to run a wedding at the same time. Whether we would go again I haven't decided.

The staff are what makes the Occidental a special place to stay! Eva and her pool entertainment team keep things fun. The food is wonderful and something good for everyone can be found at each meal!

Service, staff, rooms and the property was amazing. Could do better with the buffets. Japanese restaurant was amazing best night out there. Lobby lounge entertainment was great too.

Clean room, facilities and friendly staff. 1 star drop for food - not as good as we were expecting for a 4-5 star hotel.
