"Beautiful landscaped grounds, made if feel like you were in a jungle resort. All kinds of creatures with howler monkeys in trees just off out balcony the highlight. Great breakfast and the staff were amazing. Great pool as well. 1 block from the beautiful beach with great walking along the ocean to Playa del Coco."

"The breakfast was yummy both days that we were there, and the service at the restaurants was top-notch! However, we were disappointed not to have a swimming pool available to use as guests at Santarena Hotel. The rooftop infinity pool was way too small for the number of rooms available. "

When we arrived, it turnes out the restaurant hasnt even been built yet and there was also alot of construction going on daily."

The hotel is a couple of minutes walk to the beach and the main street with lots of restaurants but was still quiet. All the rooms have their own sitting space outside the room overlooking the pool. "Eric was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was immaculately clean. The unit itself was very clean and high tech, with a great AC unit. The walk to the beautiful beach takes 3 minutes, but there's a ditch crossing along the way that might be difficult to navigate for those with mobility issues."

"Mature trees that were dropping mangos everytime the wind blew. Staff stood around, and did not pick up the fruit. Iguanas, squirrels and birds were eating the fruit and leaving a mess. It is a beautiful property with potential, but not for the picky travelers. No hot water in shower or sink, and large ants on the walls in our room."
