"The hotel was impeccable!! We were closely located to all the downtown action - argyle street and the harbour. The room was pristine and had an amazing view. We didnt have time to eat there or use the hot tub. The only thing I found odd is that the coffee wasn’t included… they accommodated us for a late check out as we were having such a great time in the city!. Would definitely stay here again!!"

"Friendly and helpful staff - from the front desk to housekeeping. Room was clean and spacious, with large fridge and stovetops, dishes and cutlery - great for a family of four that wants to save money and cut down on restaurant visits. One big negative was the mattress on the fold out couch, which was very thin and not suitable for two adults. It might be ok for two small children, but I would recommend upgrading the mattresses. "This was my husband's and my first time in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Hollis was a nice hotel, especially our room; it was quite large for two people, so we enjoyed the extra space. We ordered room service while staying, and the food was quite good, so check out The Cannery. The only fault of the hotel was that the fitness room/gym was not that impressive; it only had a few cardio machines and free weights. We have been to hotels that have had so much more. Overall, nice hotel."

"Everything was good except the pool and sauna were out of service, and this was a key reason for booking this property. Staff handled the complaint well though and offered some compensation but it would have been good to have been informed ahead of checking in so that we could have considered alternative properties.
