"Such a weird place. The bathroom must of had 6 bars in it. One of which was just under the shower head, meaning your body was either against the cold metal bar or the curtain stuck to you. There was a sign in the room stating that you needed to close the bathroom door while showering or you would set off the fire alarm with steam. Glad this was a one night experience."

"The hotel is looking a bit tired and in need of an update.
The room was fine...no safe, furniture a bit tatty and some black mould around the bath/shower.
Only 1 dressing robe and slippers in the room, although booked as a couple.
Room service was a bit random. The sandwiche that arrived was not great, with a tired piece of lettuce, 2 small tomatoes and some tortilla chips.
Breakfast was again fine but nothing to write home about. The hot food had the air of being put out for the opening...

"This hotel really did represent value for money on a weekend where the city was busy due to a famous comedian performing. The hotel is central and only a five minute walk from the train station. Staff helpful, communal spaces lovely for a drink in the evening. Room was roomy shower powerful with lovely toiletries provided - only one bath towel provided for 2 of us but that will have been an oversight and guess what we coped. "NEEDS IMPROVING. The location was fantastic, however there are several things that need work and whoever cleans the flat would know this. The freezer section of the refrigerator is one solid block of ice, pushing open the freezer door. It's so bad that a person needs to make sure the fridge door is closed.
The shower hose and drain need attention. The drain gets plugged immediately.
The bed is the absolute WORST bed I have ever slept on. I bet the mattress is several decades old. You feel...

After having this booked for months I spent over 90 minutes speaking to hotels.com the night before check in as we had not received any instructions. I was re-assured we would get them by 1pm the next days. 1pm came and you guessed it. "The appartment was not clean, an heavy smell of sewer. Many places in the apartment was really dirty: bathroom curtain, oven and fridge was destroyed. There were dirty bed sheet in a wardrobe entrance. The wifi password was not given to us and after our arrival we had no answer at all from the property. Hopefully we have booked only one night. I do not recommend this place."

"Wow! The most beautiful nights stay at The Peacock, the scenery, the room, the food, the staff. I didn't want to leave. I LOVED the little touches - the Peacock shortbread, the glass bottles for water/milk, bath salts.
I've stopped in a lot of hotels and I have to say this stay beats them all. Perfect!

"Having stayed a few times over the years we knew what to expect . As usual all the staff were helpful and cheerful.
However we stayed in room 6 overnight on a very hot day and night so the room was very uncomfortably hot and made sleeping a problem. We did notice there was an air conditioning unit in the ceiling which was not operating and there was no way to control it.
