"We stayed for 3 nights April 20-23, 2026. Rooms are nice, overlooked the ocean with excellent views. Rooms cleaned each day and staff were all friendly. AC in the rooms and it was hot out. The AC worked well, not excellent, however, worked well enough. I would book this room again. There are four rooms that overlook the ocean while four other rooms that really have no view at all. "

"Casa Kal Mar exceeded expectations. The decor felt so natural and perfect for the setting and the whole place was well kept and spotless. The views were stunning, the breakfasts delicious, and the staff was kind and interactive. "This adults-only guest house with big, spacious rooms (including kitchenettes) is about a ten minute walk into town. Hillside with great ocean views, you either need a car or a taxi on call if you are not a walker and can’t hike up and down stairs. I happened to love the exercise and the clothing-optional pool!"

"The AC did not cool past a certain point, but was good enough. The staff seemed kind of careless. Didn't get a welcoming vibe from them. The wifi comes and goes. The water they offer is outside so it's always warm and dusty. Half the building is still under construction. The new concrete rooms look like a cold, gray, bunker. "This hotel definitely comes with a bit of a workout — there are quite a few stairs to climb to get around the property. That said, it’s one of those rare cases where the effort genuinely pays off.
