Faulty towers like- nice chateau crumbling into decay. Putty actually missing from window leaving a gap/ mummified insect on frame- no shower/ no aircom/ no safe/no tv/ missing hairdryer
- une heure d'attente pour la prise de commande au dîner, un menu à 40 € hors boissons pour un foie gras sans prétention et un agneau de 7h trop cuit ;
Great hotel, superb room right at the top of the chateau. Shame there is no restaurant or meal choice but even so it was a good meal and a great place to stay.
Booked this hotel for anniversary while on trip to France. Staying in a Chateau seemed like a romantic idea. Great selection for stepping back in town. There is a lift near the back of the building. Large soaker tub.
Stayed at Le Chateau Reignac for just one night - a fabulous building, very interesting . We hadn't arrange to have an evening meal so the staff were very helpful in recommending a nearby restaurant & booking it for us. Lovely buffet breakfast. Would return & stay longer.

Not at all good
There was no one to let us in when we arrived at around 6pm; we had to make a call before someone arrived. We had pre-arranged for two single beds, we were told this would cost an extra 40 euros in clear breach of the terms. My adult son and I had to sleep in one double bed.
We went out to dinner and had to let ourselves in via a dingy unlit back door.
There is a road that runs in front of the hotel and the church bells of the church next door start ringing constantly at 7am! This should have been made clear on the web sites.
We checked out after one night even though we had booked for three. The unfriendly hotel manager/owner insisted on charging us for the three nights and our complaints about the traffic noise and bells were fobbed off with the comment 'you might as well complain about the rain or the birds'.
We based our three day visit to the Bordeaux area at this chateau. It was very nice -- clean, beautifully furnished, big room, fantastic bathroom, and great swimming pool. It was a little off the beaten path, but worth the drive. Carla, the owner, was very helpful and a great hostess. Her breakfasts were fantastic!!

Great historic chateau
Loved staying in an old historic chateau! Served a wonderful dinner.
As expected, the hotel is old and has the usual creaky floors one would expect. The location was perfect for viewing the Loire Valley and visiting other chateau in the area. The location of the hotel is peaceful and in the countryside. Make plans for dinner prior to arriving as the options are limited.
My husband and I stayed at the chateau for 2 nights. It was a perfect place to explore the Loire Valley by car. The hotel and the setting is beautiful. It feels very authentic and a step back in time. We had the 3 course dinner there both nights and it was absolutely delicious! The owner of the hotel - Erik - was lovely and took time to show us the chapel and have a chat. The lady at the front desk and the waiter were also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying at the chateau.
We spent night one night here and had a superb time. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bath was a real luxury. We loved the rustic feel and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant down the road, La Plantation, was pleasant but the food was not high quality.
If you want to stay in an authentic 15th century castle, this is the place. It could have come straight from a fairy tale. We had a lovely room. They are a small outfit and offer relatively few services, e.g. no room service. We didn't make reservations in advance for dinner and so had to drive about 20 minutes to the town. Overall definitely worth the experience.
Lovely hotel and run exceptionally well with a small staff. Really enjoyed our stay and the extra service that was provided to ensure that we enjoyed our time both in the hotel and out at the local sites and resturants.
A fabuous experience in a picture-perfect setting!
We stayed three nights in May at this lovely chateau. All of the staff went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. We had a delicious dinner in the dining room our first night complete with local wine, and enjoyed an pre-dinner aperitif and post-dinner coffee in the comfortable salon.
all in all, it was a great experience!!
Have returned here for the third time, so that tells its own story.
Excellent meal and staff and owner are most charming. They greet us like old friends!

No TV in the room. Strong smell of urine in the toilet.
We had the pleasure of spending 2 night here in the beautiful loire Valley. The chateau has been beautifully retored and has its own chapel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in the morning in the dining room and dinner was available at night. Free wifi was available in the lounge. Car parking was free and on site. The grounds were magnificent and beautiful to wander through.
Hôtel très agréable. Personnel très aimable. Cadre exceptionnel.
