"the food for breakfast that you offered tasted like cardboard the oatmeal was runny not oatmeal the orange juice was not orange juice eggs and meat on both days were not eggs or meat they all looked like food but the food was not the real deal other than the breakfast food and it was NOT the preparers it was the food ... the staff and the room were execellent it was the food that was disapointing coffee was good also if i am paying 800 for 2 nights i expect real food "

"The location was great for our business. The rug was old and dirty. The furniture was old and outdated. The bathroom was also outdated, with rust around the mirrors. The bedding was not as clean and crisp as other hotels."

There was absolutely no parking available even though it was stated " plenty of free parking on 39th street" this is just absolutely not true. "After staying at this Days Inn, I will be contacting the Alleghany Board of Health. There were cockroaches, hair on our towels, the sinks wouldn't drain, the floors were dirty and sticky, the exits were all boarded up outside of one exit in the lobby, there were unsavory characters who were not guests lingering in the lobby, and the overall experience was akin to walking through a dirty NYC alley at 3am. Do not stay here at all costs."

I had to write and request the password The bathroom sink was not secure and I was afraid it was going to fall. There were no hooks or towel bars in the bathroom. The water reservoir for the coffee maker was full of green slim making the coffee pot unusable. The bed squeaked every time you touched it or moved. So I woke up every time I rolled over at night and therefore slept very...

"My room was never cleaned the whole time I stayed there from 05/14 to 05/18. The bed was never changed. It was uncomfortable and quite disturbing. I asked one of the hotel staff up front why my room wasn't cleaned and I was told they only did every other day. The hotel staff was usually helpful and nice but some were not. "This is the second time I have stayed at the Oaklander. The first time there were stains all over my sheets. They were changed. This time the pillows were wrinkled and did not smell fresh. I had to request new pillow cases. It’s a beautiful hotel but when they tell you they are inspecting your room before you go in beware, you better inspect it yourself. Housekeeping was very courteous when they changed the pillow cases. One bright point. Very disappointing for such a beautiful hotel."
