"Based on the pictures and ratings, I didn't realize that the structure was more like a motel and not a hotel. Meaning, you walked to your room from the outside. The walls were thin and you could hear conversations, noises from adjoining rooms. The grounds were beautiful and it was very clean, however. The AC was a noisy wall unit.
I can see where most would not have a problem with a motel type atmosphere, but for us, we prefer something different."

"Lovely place to stay in Petoskey, Michigan. It was our central location to come back to each evening after sailing in Traverse City, traveling to Mackinaw Island, or finding our way to Legs Inn through the Tunnel of Trees. We enjoyed the big porch, eating pizza with friends while we watched the sunset over the lake. Fresh cookies in our room daily! No room TV's to distract, but a nice game/TV/library room to use when you needed it. Also morning beverages available there if you were leaving...

"This was a very nice property and conveniently located but still quiet. It is not brand new so has a few age marks here and there. Average plus bath. The bed as ok but not the most comfy we've encountered on this driving trip. The included breakfast was very good with some options and well prepared. Has a very large area for tables so most crowds should be accommodated. Very near some restaurants, stores and casino."

"Very disappointed, this location was in Petoskey we paid a lot of money for this hotel. Had a check in late because the room wasn't clean yet. This is a king Lakeview I had to pay extra. Had a very small countertop like for half bathroom and the worst part is smelled like strong chemicals that burned my throat so bad. We left and came back and still so bad we had to leave. It ruined our entire visit and had to drive home 3 hours. Expedia charged me 95.00 to cancel in order to get my refund. I...

"Even though check-in was at 3:00 PM, we were unable to check into our room until almost 4:00. They were definitely short staffed, only one person was cleaning the second floor of the hotel. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. No fruit and a broken juice machine. Your only choice for food was cold cereal, bread items, tasteless pancakes or, Danimals yogurt. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this hotel."
