The pictures depicting the hotel seem fraudulent and I feel totally misled. It looks like a neglected, abandoned hostel and we chose not to stay there. Please read reviews before booking as I didn’t. I would pay £70 NOT to stay there

Overall i would rate the hotel 7/10. Good location, pleasant staff worth value for money ie cheap and cheerful. The place could do with more upkeep and upgrading. Although the style of the manor was old Victorian its worn out looking. Otherwise cant fault the place. Personally wouldn't go back there its too far out maybe book nearer Manchester itself. The rooms need to be cleaned daily. We stayed 3 nights and neither the bedding or bins had been changed.

Room was clean but bathroom was a bit gruby. There were only hand towels, which wasn't a problem as the shower didn't work at all. Breakfast was okay but no water in the urn so unable to have a coffee or tea. Car parking & distance to town center waa excellent

Good free parking, a bit dated but ok, there was a fan provided but the room was still extremely warm. The bed was comfortable but the mattress was smaller than the bed frame. Staff were pleasant from the little interaction we had as didn’t make breakfast! Great location for what we wanted!

This hotel is a victoria aged building with impressive architecture. It beats Premier Inn and Travel Lodge prices with free parking and free breakfast, from limited menu plus tea, coffee and orange juice, free WiFi and hotel TV plan offers extra free stations to plow through. BBC I PLAYER AND NETFLIX ect.. Both my wife and I enjoyed our five night stay

Ok… reviews are not that good .. and I can understand, however the hotel seems in somewhat of a transition period ; (an old hospital conversion it seems with period architecture) ….work being done and plaster foot prints all through the dining hall when we arrived . Man behind desk was helpful and talkative once he understood us (yes , it’s the north and a lot of Asian run hotels now ) and a nice friendly guy. First impressions … hotel needs brightening and updating. Walk up to first floor to our ‘ upgraded’ room …first impression was the damp smell.. not great. Big four poster bed … tv not tuned in .. blinds instead of curtains and a window that didn't close properly … big bathroom ( shower only )… his n hers sinks ( with wobbly taps !!)… frosted glass and no curtains BUT.. clean bedding, plenty of towels and soap and shampoo bodywash provided. Breakfast was fine , and quickly served. Choice of standard breakfast ( egg, bacon ,sausage hash brown , beans and two toast. Help yourself to serial snd instant coffee/ tea ; or a Halal breakfast or veggie of similar food. No fuss . Parking limited but we were fine , in after midnight. To be honest , for a one night stay was fine … staff were pleasant I’d stay again . Could be a lovely place when upgraded.

We didn't take up our booking because we were advised by our friends and relatives (one is a member of the local constabulary) who live locally that the hotel is filthy, poorly managed and used more as a hostel for undesirables. We were advised not to stay there, consequently we didn't even see the establishment so cannot confirm whether that is the case.
