"We enjoy Goldwynn for its boutique feel and size. It is quiet and peaceful. It is very walkable and only 6 levels. We much prefer this size hotel & grounds, rather than the massive resorts like BahaMar and Atlantis. The beach chaise lounges (with padded cushions & thirsty towels) are properly spaced so that you are not sitting too close to other vacationers & have room to move your chairs in keeping with the shade provided by the umbrellas. The restaurant is okay, with room for improvement. Best menu items are the sushi offerings and the grouper sandwich (trust me, it’s delicious)! Drinks are strong, but mostly too sweet - which the bartender adjusted to suit my taste. Pool, bathrooms and cabanas are clean and well kept. Staff are friendly & knowledgeable. Our one complaint is the vacation club representatives are persistent & hook you in to giving up 90 minutes of your time to hear their sales pitch by offering you discounts on future reservations, cans of goombay smash and a rum cake. DON’T FALL FOR IT! You will sacrifice 3 hours of your time & if you’ve ever owned time share you understand what I’m saying. Just say a firm “no thank you” and carry on with your vacation.
We hope this resort will continue to improve and that the refurbishments will be continual and often. It would be sad to see this gem decline from neglect. If you enjoy quiet, relaxing, low-key, elegant boutique resorts with gorgeous sunsets, Goldwynn should be on your bucket list."
