"Lovely retreat in a quaint village placed conveniently between both coasts. Glamping at it's best. The hosts discreet but easily reached. Issues sorted swiftly (beside weather not in their power :).CLose to Newquay, Truro St Ives.Lost garden of Heligan and an amazing pub, walking distance from the site with beautiful food. Breakfast available, basics provided. I had a lovely time despite feeling that the wind will.blow away the tent over te Atlantic. Sturdy tent."
"There are two Plume of Feathers in Cornwall. If you search for the one in Portscatho on Google this one is likely to show up and I made the mistake in booking it. When I contacted them once I had realised my error they said it was not up to them to refund but Expedia - who I contacted. They were helpful and sympathetic - but they said it was actually at the discretion of the host who they contacted on my behalf but they declined my request. I again contacted the PoF to ask them to reconsider...
"I watch a lot of hotel programmes so I'm a bit od a critic. Room was very clean and fresh. Friendly welcome and goodbye. Breakfast was nice. Great view of the hills and a short walk into the village"
"Amazing views, very lovely staff, easy parking, very clean and comfortably spacious rooms.
Only thing to note is that if the bar / restaurant is open and music on, and it's summer and you have windows open, it can get a bit noisy on the top floor. We stayed Friday and sat night so that might also make a difference. Parents were in room on cliffside below the restaurant and was much quieter there. Five stars easily even with this!"
"Fabulous stay, wonderful room, very helpful staff and enjoyed our first stay.
The only down side was no air con and only a fan to assist with the high heat.
Will definitely be staying again."
"I don't think I've ever been made to feel so unwelcome at a hotel or B'n'B. We were using public transport. We were dropped off by taxi at 10am. Obviously we weren't expecting to check in but I've never stayed anywhere where luggage storage isn't available. The owner's immediate reaction was to tell us we check in isn't until 2. She did allow us to leave the luggage but I was taken aback at the unwelcoming attitude.
We came back at 2. Owner complained that she had no details about the booking....
