I really enjoyed my stay at The James Hotel in Rotterdam. I could check in early, which was very helpful as I had a few pieces of luggage. The room was clean and comfortable.
There is also an Albert Heijn supermarket less than 5 minutes away, which is great for buying food and drinks and topping up on extra necessities. Koopgoot and Lijnbaan are also a stones throw away in case any last minute shopping needs to be done!
The reception staff were kind and helpful. They speak both English and Dutch, which is very useful if you are visiting from another country and do not speak the local language. Check-in was easy and everything was clear.
This will definitely be my hotel of choice going forward anytime I do come to Rotterdam, as it's very central to everything (Tram stops, Metro Station, Rotterdam Centraal, etc). I would happily stay here again!
The only negative would have to be the scaffolding / building work going on next door whilst I stayed - which meant having to walk in the road anytime I left to go outside, but thats not something within their control!
