Helpful staff, great breakfast and a central location in Ryde are the plus points that make up for the fact this is now a pretty tired hotel.

This is very run down, brilliant location but a tired hotel. I had no kettle in my room despite having tea coffee and mugs, this was rectified once I brought it up. The staff are fantastic, the hotel itself is just very tired.

Yelf's Hotel is right in the heart of Ryde, 1st impressions are the whole place needs a refit on the inside and painting and maintenance on the outside, freyed carpets on the landings, poor decor once inside the room, ripped nets, very dated carpet only one opening window out of 3 in the bedroom, very worn out bath, shower button on the taps not staying up, rotten away tables at the back in the courtyard sorry but this is not a 3 star hotel, only saving grace was all the staff we met were lovely

Very comfortable the room was large and the bed was just right . The hotel was right in the town soeasy access to shops and restaurants and not very far from the beach

The hotel has a easy‑going vibe, but it’s let down by some serious operational issues. Reception staff were rarely present and felt understaffed, and there was no information about their working hours or any emergency contact number. We were given a room facing the road and sunrise with one of the four windowds didn't have a curtain. The receptionist kindly offered to move us, but the room we wanted to inspect was already occupied. We ended up staying in the original room, where the bed was visible to nearby buildings, and the sunrise woke us at 6 a.m. The next day a makeshift cloth was added, but the curtains were still only light‑filtering, so we were woken again at sunrise. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were so thin they were practically nonexistent. Overall, it was the worst sleep I’ve had in a hotel. Positives: The first evening receptionist was genuinely lovely - we almost shared a birthday - and the staff who were around were friendly and accommodating. They let us celebrate my birthday in the common area and refill our water bottles in the kitchen, which was appreciated, especially with a group of nine.

The hotel staff were lovely and helpful, I was able to leave my case at reception as I was off out for the day, and wouldn't be back till the evening. The hotel was lovely had a good relaxing feeling. My room was very clean and cosy. Bathroom was clean, however the hot water in the shower went cold after a short time. Not to bad a thing as the cold water woke me up and I was ready for the day (04.00). The bed was clean and comfy however, it felt like the bed was on a slight slop. I felt at times i was going to roll off 😄 (no I hadn't being drinking). Not really sure what the hatch / boarded up thing was all about. I did hit my head on it during the night 🙄 I was a lot better than the one I stayed in the night before. I would stay here again. In a double room next time. 😊
Duck your head when entering and leaving. Am only 5ft.1in tall/short. I could quite easily knock my head. Bare that in mind.

The hotel could do with updating but the staff was helpful and pleasant great position plenty of shop restaurants and for what we paid was good value
