"The hotel was nothing fancy, but it was a place to lay my head for the night."

"We’ve been staying at Grant Hills for years. The rooms aren’t fancy, though are very clean and comfortable. We like the option to bring our pups with if we choose. The cost of a two night stay is many times less than one night in other Galena hotels. It’s always very quiet and there is a walking path not far away. "

"The hotel was very nice and the communication from them leading up to the stay was excellent. I didn't like the fact that we couldn't control the room temperature ourselves, we had to text the owner to raise or lower the heat, and it was cold for awhile in the room when we arrived. Also, the location is not as close to the main street as described in the overview -- more than a block to the main street where shop and restaurants are. "Pool area was very crowded, the hot tub was packed with kids. No toys are allowed in the pool at all. Very short staffed.Breakfast very basic.Elevator out of order and because the hotel charged me for early check in and shouldn’t have it took 2 hours to get checked in."

"Breakfast was basic but ok and the worst part was the fire alarm went off at 1am and everyone had to wake up and evacuate out into the cold only for them to not know what caused it and a oh sorry about that. I get you can’t compensate every room but I mean cmon you’re there on a little family vacation with the kids and then that happens and makes the rest of the stay miserable in my opinion "
