Redhill

"I booked a room overlooking the trees, as shown on Expedia, for nearly £300 a night to celebrate our anniversary. Instead, I was given the room shown in the attached photos. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The moment I saw the room and its “view”, the mood of our anniversary was ruined. This was not what I had booked or expected to receive for nearly £300 a night. When I questioned the view, I was told that it was the only room available and that I would have to pay...

"We stayed here for two nights during a layover, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The hallways and room smelled like dirty feet, and the toilet was visibly dirty, with blood and urine stains running down it. The beds were uncomfortable, and the TV didn’t work. When we ran out of toilet paper and asked for more, we were told, “You need to come down to the lobby to get it.” That was unacceptable, especially given the overall lack of helpful service. 8. Sunday Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel

Dorking

"The room and hallways/landing were outdated, dirty and in desperate need of renovation. Mattress was poor - worthy of a skip. It was the worst room I’ve ever stayed in. Supposedly this was a DELUXE double!!! If it wasn’t for the fact we were due at a party in Dorking that evening and didn’t arrive to the hotel until 6.30pm, we would have insisted on either another room or ideally our money back and moved to another hotel."
