"A beautiful view of the Arkansas River and a mountain range from the balcony. So peaceful watching the sun rise. The convenience of a great park across the street and the ability to walk to local restaurants and unique shops in town was a big plus. We feel we made the absolute best choice of hotels for our stay in Salida for our gandson's wedding!"

"The bed was, without question, the worst I’ve ever slept on. It was so deeply worn and dented that it felt more like sleeping in a hammock than on a mattress. The center sagged so badly that my legs were actually higher than my head, making it incredibly uncomfortable and nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep."

"The staffing from start to finish were amazing people. Very clean rooms! Great bedding! Tv not great for us, no channels we could find for anything good. Not a problem. The HOT TUB was fabulous. Gorgeous space to read and talk quietly after a long soak. GREAT tub! It was pretty noisy from the room next door any time they used water BUT no big deal. There WAS some continuous "shushing" motor sound all night long that was annoying, a compressor maybe? I HAD to cover my head and did finally fall...

"We had an excellent stay at the Loyal Duke. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The walls of the building were very thick - we didn't have much noise trouble at all. It's also in a great location. We were able to drive everywhere with ease or take a low-priced taxi into town in the evenings with ease as well. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back."

"The advertising photo of the nice cabin is not the cabin we got and booking was misleading. No AC, no water, no bathroom, just the cabin and two outlets. The advertising is misleading as there was no coffee. The coffee house pictured is not open. The people were very nice, it was quiet and it looks like they are really trying to do some nice improvements. The shared shower house and bathrooms are very nice, just a long walk in the middle of the night. It was very nice for having our dog along...

"GHOST INN FROM 1800! Like entering the twilight zone! Cooks walked out so no restaurant no nothing! No people except squatters! No staff except one 90 year old grouch plus little ole carpet cleaner in hall! We threw keys on desk and left! Massive complaint with Expedia demanding refund!"
