"Great location, only 5min walk to closest subway station. Great hosts who were very responsive and gave us a lot of great recommendations on matcha ceremony and sake tasting. Not to mention there are 4 complimentary activities included (matcha, sake, fan painting, and card game). Unit is small but very cozy if you want to experience sleeping on futons."

"Reception staff were all very friendly and present at any time of the day. They offered free drinks and sake in the lobby as well. There was sitting available and even an origami how to book to keep people entertained. There was also a washer/dryer machine right in our room which made laundry super convenient and free!"

"This was the best hotel stay in my whole life! To start the property I believe is a refurbished historic ryokan so it definitely has the charm of a traditional stay while being luxury appointed ! I cannot speak better about staff here they were so helpful they went out of there way to make sure we had everything , greet us, open doors, offer us umbrellas on rainy days! "This was a lovely hotel! Great location close to the metro and only two stops up from Kyoto Station; it’s right next to the market and a lot of shopping and restaurants. It was very easy for us to get around to all the sights we wanted to see! The room itself was huge and clean. The beds were possibly the most comfy hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. The staff were very kind and also helped me ship my luggage at the end. We would absolutely stay here again!"

The unit that we had was the standard one bedroom with two double beds and the unit was super clean, modern and spacious! My mom and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at Rinn Gion Shirakawa. The amenities that they provided were amazing too, ranging from a water fountain, laundry machines and a microwave and others… super great! I highly recommend this hotel if you plan to travel to Kyoto! "
