"This was the most beautiful hotel we stayed at in japan. The attention to detail is incredible. The staff was extremely helpful when needed. The room was huge and layout was awesome. Hotel has a awesome bar right in lobby that makes delicious cocktails. Its right by alot of awesome stuff too. Everything is walking distance. Nishiki market and shopping areas in only a short block away. Amazing area to stay in Kyoto. Our favorite stop so far."

""A"... perhaps "the" classic ryokan. Relaxed (genuine) gracefullness that is not commercial or something you can teach. It is not a material luxury experience (there are many others who fit this expectation), so much as an unintentional unmannicured view into the past of old Kyoto. Very dreamy for me at least!. It felt like returning to my granny's house in post war Setayaga. Special. There are exceptional people among the staff whose heart beats echo mine and that era."

"The whole place is spacious, peaceful and beautiful! Japanese style room equipped with complimentary drinks and snacks as well as nice pajamas and slippers to use during stay. The shower and very large bath tub are amazing! Very close to great shopping and Nishiki market. We hope to come back soon for a longer stay."

"Clean, spacious, tasteful and comfortable rooms. Onsen and sauna are immaculate and well designed. Location is easily walkable to many transportation and dining options while avoiding the crowds around Kawaramachi. Breakfast is decent with a quality spread. "

"Amazing luxury hotel in the best possible location south of Pontocho and across the bridge from Gion. A huge room with a terrace and a sparkling large bathroom with a shower, wooden tub, and river views. Fridge stocked with beer and soft drinks and a washer-dryer for longer stays. None of this comes cheap but go and enjoy."
