A nice inn with some notable nuances. First, I appreciated the staff - courteous, helpful, and friendly. And it was a decent option considering how high prices and limited availability were during the conference I attended in SF. However, the hotel room was a bit of a surprise. I knew beforehand that each room was unique, but I didn’t realize the rooms lacked some of the standard features you’d expect.
My room was located in the second house (the inn consists of two houses connected by a backyard). We had to walk through the exposed backyard to reach the room and then go up a staircase. The room itself was spacious with a queen size bed but not ideal for more than one person. There were two of us, and the bathroom setup offered very little privacy: while the toilet was separate from the bath and sink area, it was open-air with only a curtain as a door and poor ventilation (thank goodness there were windows).
On the positive side, the room had access to a small balcony, which was nice, and we really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the morning.
In terms of location, the inn is convienently located on a decent street that felt safe, but the nearest public transportation options are the train stations in the Mission District - areas that aren’t particularly safe to walk around, especially in the evening. I’d recommend using Waymo or Lyft for transportation instead.
