I loved the place and it's location but because you need to leave the windows open. (otherwise I'd boil) The outside noise it loud. Normally I'm cool with trash being taken out at 12am but the place across the street was doing construction all night and also served until 3:30am on the weekends. I'm stoked for the energy in the neighborhood, but I didn't sleep well.

I love this area of SF - it's the city for sure. The only problem was the ramen restaurant across the street, which, while lively and awesome, was doing construction work all night long during a couple of nights of my stay. Since there's no AC, you have to keep the windows open (which I usually love), and it was so loud I couldn't sleep. Additionally, the same restaurant is open until 3:30 AM on weekends, which is great for late-night crawls but not ideal for people trying to sleep across the street.

Customer care needs to be imporved.The room was good.The hallway leading to room was scary. The carpet needs to be replaced. Checkin was a bit painful as the cleaning lady at Bartlett said the check was on the other side(she could not speak english) so walked all the way across to the other side and came back and then realized there is a small sign which says check is it at a different hotel. The staff at checkin and checkout is absolutely not interested in talking to their guest. The way they responded to questions was a scene to watch, as if someone has put a ton of weight on their heads.

Overall, the room was clean and well-appointed, with complimentary toiletries that made the stay comfortable. The water in the bath and shower worked very well, with good pressure and a full range of hot, warm, and cold options. However, the toilet flush was weak, and there was no bath mat provided. It felt quite unpleasant after taking a shower, so having a towel or mat for the feet would have been much appreciated. And please parking deals for the clients…it is very hard to find one

Clean room, only one bath white tower, no tooth brush, no tooth paste, no coffee or tea. The part time receptionist did not follow the guest request such as no amenities.

I’ve been coming to San Francisco for over 30 years and always stay in the small boutique hotels. This is the first one EVER that didn’t offer basic luggage storage for an early arrival or late departure. Will not stay again.

Good points : location is great, next to bus, train, cable car, friendly staffs. Bad points: the receptionist is not present often. The facilities are very old, the fan in my room is broken, the window is too low and dangerous for children. Besides , we can hear people in other room laughing at night very clear.

Room looks like pics. No AC but has a ceiling fan. No coffee pot, cups, or microwave but has a mini fridge. No wash cloths or hand towels. Keyed entry through all doors and elevator access. Spacious clean room though I could feel the springs in the bed. Overall nice weekend place to stay in the heart of Union Square
