I have no idea how this property has such a high rating. There were some positives, but they were grossly outweighed by the negatives. Two things made me leave, giving up the money for my reservation. I drove in at night and the area is flat out scary at night. The street is poorly lit, which is never good for crime rates. There were homeless people at the bus stop. There was someone, who might have been homeless, tweaking out on some substance walking in front of the property feet from me as I went inside to register. There is no barrier between the street and the parking lot. Anyone can walk from the street into the parking lot. One small corner of the parking lot is extremely well lit, but the other parts are very dimly lit, or not lit at all. I was driving a new 50k car. I did not want to leave it there overnight. The other massive negative was the mattress. It was a spring mattress which was completely worn out. There was literally no back support. There was little cushioning between you and the bed springs. I had to drive 11 hours the next day. I know I was going to wake up with a completely sore back. If the mattress does not support your back, your body has to. The bed was unacceptable. There were some positives. The room was small, but I found it charming in appearance. The color scheme was nice and it looked very clean. The bathroom looked like it was from the 70's, but it was clean. I didn't use it, but I kind of liked it. It had some charm.

Owner charged me at check in after his wife had already charged my card. He did discover his error and refund my card. Heater is so loud you can't watch TV without adjusting the volume constantly.

It was an old old adobe property, updated a bit- still old decor and old carpet (at least old looking) but it was super clean, super convenient and the people running it (front desk and cleaning) were great. It was definitely a small room, but closets and dresser to stash stuff if you wanted. I would choose this over any of the chains on S Cerrillos road. Also, this was much closer in to downtown than most of the chain motels.

There is no way that this hotel got the reviews that did that were not paid for. The outside of the hotel is cute and well kept, the inside of the rooms are abysmal. Everything is static from the 1970s. The rooms are uneven you have to walk uphill to go to the bathroom. The bed is on a metal frame that flexes and sounds like a drum. The horrible part is that it was just ever so slightly cheaper than a regular hotel.

I’ve stayed her three times over TJ last five years and will stay here again. My only concern was the air conditioner, which was way too loud to use. I’d turn it on for a bit to cool off the room then turn it off again. Excellent location for maneuvering around Santa Fe. Very nice people and always feel safe.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property appeared freshly painted and crisp. Parking was clear and easy to access but there appeared to be more than one vehicle per room and it filled up fast. It may be necessary to have a special place to park vehicles with trailers. Perhaps the lot to the south. Inside the room it was rather dark with a perfumed smell. The room (12) was rather cramped but could be decluttered. It would be a good idea to remove the old tv platform and mount the flat panel tv to the wall. That would free up space and eliminate the bumping hazard. Removing the credenza and putting the desk and chair near the window would offer a lot more space. Building a cabinet for the mini fridge and microwave would provide space for the coffee station on top freeing up more space. The mattress may need to be flipped and could use a down mattress pad. It was firm but the coils were noticeable and the metal blocking off the underside bowed and sounded with movement. There is a nice cafe to the south but be careful walking, the sidewalks are treacherous. The property is easy to access from the south but it is necessary to turn around if coming from the north. The median does not allow direct access.

The motel was conveniently located near all of the attractions and things we had planned to do. It was also very clean, and the roses were absolutely beautiful. The motel was immaculately kept inside and out the service was friendly and helpful.

Charming former motor court motel. Clean and well maintained. Could have used tissues and a hair dryer (for my wife) in the room. Otherwise a solid place to stay for the value.

Charming older "motor motels" like this are hard to find. Anyone nostalgic on old route 66 may know if people detoured down to santa fe after the reroute Cerrillos Road was where you went. I would have liked it then, but I liked it now and thought it was cool and charming. I got there at night and really saw the colors the next morning. Inside is like most of these I have found and some things inside were older... However everything worked and it was very clean!
