"Good news first. Stayed for 5 nights. Great hotel. Good location. Room is well lit. Very comfortable bedding. Great bathroom and shower! Front desk staff was fantastic and helpful. We would absolutely return to this hotel. Now the bad news. Housekeeping was the worst we've ever experienced. Anywhere. Every single request was ignored. Requested the room to be serviced multiple times (their policy is to clean the room once every three days unless specifically requested. Which we did) Simply ignored. Front desk staff was apologetic and by the end, embarrassed. Requested extra hangers from the moment we checked in. Didn't receive them until the third day when the front desk delivered them personally. Requested extra towels. Forget about it. Ultimately we picked them up from the front desk ourselves because, "housekeeping had left for the day." Room cleaned once in six days, (five nights). Just terrible. The hotel needs to address this deficiency (and with more than simply responding to this review with a "thank you for bringing this to our attention." We brought it to the hotel's attention almost every day. Still, despite the terrible housekeeping, we truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and in Portland."

"We liked this hotel a lot! It’s very clean. The staff is friendly. The room was spacious and quiet. The breakfast is pretty good and there are enough choices. We were very happy… and I booked this hotel again for my next trip to Portland in few days."

"Reasonable room rates. The Red Lion was an older property, but in good condition. Rooms were large, with microwave & fridge. Shower had hot water, towels were a bit small."
