Great Stay very welcoming

Amazing stay at this hotel , very friendly staff and tim gave us later check out , very nice welcoming guy aswell as other staff there , definitely be staying again when visiting Scarborough Open Air Theatre, 10 mins walk away , nice room with sea view , room number 4 , see you again soon ..

Awesome little gem

This is definitely my ‘go to’ in Scarborough. Very clean, friendly staff, and parking. Rooms are small, but I would definitely choose this over a well known hotel chain. A couple of the rooms have a shared bathroom, but don’t let this put you off. Only downside for some may be the stairs which are steep and narrow. over the road is a great pub as well.

Basic room, but clean and bed very comfortable. Friendly staff (even rang before we arrived to say room was ready and give further instructions for check-in). Would recommend for a one or two night stay.

Amazing little gem

This guest house is one of the cleanest properties I have stayed in. Rooms are compact, but comfortable. The shared bathroom isn’t really shared as a lot of the rooms have en-suite, so don’t let it put you off if that is the only room available. The towels provided are thick and fluffy. Deania the host is very welcoming and will make sure you are happy.

We booked Thoresby Guest House as it was within 20 mins walking distance of Scarborough Open Air Theatre. We were given a warm welcome by Deania, manager of the Thoresby and shown our room. It was perfect for our needs. We had a view of the North Bay and a really comfy bed. Deania showed us a couple of other rooms in the morning as we checked out. There are room options for all party sizes. Thanks for a lovely stay. We would definitely book again.

Fab hotel, close to open air arena

Booked for the Paul Weller conceet at the open air arena. The arena was 10mins walk from hotel. Lovely friendly check in and room was lovely. Fab concert and fab night stay.

Nice guest house, stayed 1 night for a short break in Scarborough. Tim had great communication explained everything very helpful and made sure we were OK and happy. Had everything we need clean and good location close to castle and beach. Just short walk in to the center. Thanks. We would stay again.

A gem!

A jewel in Scarborough crown! A lovely place to stay with a friendly, warm welcome. Our room was modern & bright & we were very thankful for the black out curtains. The stay was quiet & a fantastic location with a pub across the road & only a short walk to the theatre & amenities. We will stay there next time we are in the area.

Nice size rooms. Bathroom needs updating but was clean. Biggest surprise was how comfortable the bed was! Amazing! Next time I need to look into how many steps there are, my partner struggles with steps so noted for next time! Thanks for the stay!

Excellently Located Guest House

Good communication from Tim, who gave us the heads-up re parking pre- and post-arrival - a friendly and helpful host. The beds were fine and the fridge/tea/coffee facilities were most welcome, as was the fan provided, which was thoughtful. Being an older property, one or two minor issues in the bathroom with dripping taps and a broken shower head but everything worked, so no complaints. This property is excellently located for the beaches and a very walkable town centre, so we would definitely consider reserving again.

I had higher expectations for this place given the "exceptional" aggregate rating. Sadly, though the experience was mostly adequate, it was far less than other guest houses at which I have stated. On the plus side, the property is well located on the northern end of town and boasts lovely views of the water. It is mostly quiet, though the walls are thin. The room, although sufficient, was a bit dated and showing some signs of wear and tear. Cleanliness could be improved (the TV remote, for example, had visible dirt between the keys). Note also there is no cleaning service during the stay The biggest area of improvement would be the shared bathroom. It is quite small to use as a shower and oddly lacks hooks, shelves, or other spaces for towels and a change of clothes (aside from one small ring for a hand towel). The infrared light at night was also insufficiently calibrated to illuminate the hall. For longer-term guests, touching base at some point to make sure all is ok would help with good will. Aside from check-out, the only other contact was a very kind check-in, which went a long way in leaving a better impression.

Great location, easy to walk to north beach but also, town centre and south beach are close enough to walk to. For the price I paid I wasn’t expecting too much but this guesthouse has everything you might need and more for a few days away, it’s very clean and the rooms are spacious and well organised. The staff was super nice and my double bed was one of the best I’ve ever slept on! I would definitely go back!

Only one night.

Very small room and very limited 'sea view'. Very quiet however division between another room not soundproof and we could hear all conversation of neighbours. They could obviously hear ours as they tapped on the wall !!! The room and premises were spotlessly clean.
