"We only had a short stay there but the hotel and rooms are spotless, staff friendly and helpful, excellent food and well stocked bar. Ample parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would love to go back again. Thanks guys and gals 👍"

"A lovely friendly welcome from Michael at reception. All the staff were great. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The fan was a definite bonus in the hot weather although the room stayed fairly shaded too. There was some traffic noise but it didn't disrupt my sleep at all (room 16). "This was such a lovely place to stay. We had a room in the annex. We could hear other people come and go and talking in another room, but quiet other than that. The pub was very nice."

"Views - large construction site outside. Room - mould in the bathroom on the ceiling, toilet did not flush properly. No lock on bathroom door. Duvet and pillows were of a very low quality. Breakfast - We went to breakfast early (6:30) which resulted in no staff present. Gluten free food was available on request but unable to do so. Fried breakfast was lukewarm. Coffee machine broken. Decided to try somewhere nice and was sadly letdown."

"The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was huge and tasty. It’s centrally located for walking the city & near restaurants. The only thing to fix is the street which is blocked for construction, so you can only use one end of the street to get there."

It's a beautiful hotel with plenty of facilities and is ideal if your traveling by train as it is right next door to York Railway Station with direct access. "Dated room , smelled of smoke , the bathroom door lock was broken . Noise from room next door from 3-4 am . Hotel doesn’t do food , we didn’t know we had to pay for parking that was another £15. We were only there from 9 pm till before 8 am the next day . Wouldn’t return "

"The location is good and not too far away from city centre. Although the amenities of the room were dated, they were well maintained. Nice dining area for an ordinary English breakfast but I found they don’t serve whole milk! Overall, I have a good experience there and may consider to visit again."
