We stayed at Bonum 4 nights and found it to be comfortable, quiet, and in a great neighborhood. Small but charming grounds with a picnic table. The subway is 5-6 blocks away and tons of coffee shops and restaurants are within a short walk. There is a cafe/bar attached but appears to be separate from the hotel itself. Service at the hotel is very limited. There is a tiny front desk and no lounge area. No restaurant on premises. Do not expect concierge service. The hotel is primarily geared independent travelers. Would recommend.

Fabulous location with palaces in walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One thing I would say is that the sound proofing between rooms is not good due to it being a traditional wooden house.

The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and peaceful. We would definitely book again. There was a small amount of mildew in the bathroom next to the tub but for an old building it was in beautiful condition and perfect for us. One thing to note about our stay. We had trouble at check in- the cleric had walked away from the desk for a smoke or coffee or something and we were stuck in a downpour ringing the intercom to get in for 20 minutes. Another guest finally came and called using their cell phone to get the employee back, but that was quite frustrating when standing in the rain at night.

Enjoyed the Hanok — it was quiet, very clean, comfortable, very helpful staff, great location (I walked to the main Palace for the changing of the guards, and also to the Modern Art Museum, as well as to great shopping areas and restaurants). I much preferred this Hanok over a typical hotel, but if you want room service or an on-site restaurant, this probably isn’t the place for you. I had my laundry done same-day on my last day — so great to travel to my next destination with a backpack full of clean clothes. Very pleased with my experience at this Hanok and recommend it…

Takes about an hour from Incheon (let hotel know if you will arrive after 10pm and they will stay late to greet you). Traditional village is close by and easily walkable. Staff very helpful organising trips, taxis and even ordering takeaway food. Great WiFi. All in all a great place to stay for a vacation.

The hotel is clean and rooms look fresh and nice. The only downside was that the cafe street outside is very noisy until around midnight, so we had to fall asleep with a constant drinking crowd noise and cheering every night.

This is a very charming boutique hotel in a traditional Korean building, updated and modern inside. The staff is friendly and helpful, speak very good English so it was easy to communicate. Location is close to two of the palaces and a traditional Korean village so there is much sightseeing in walking distance, and some shops, restaurants. There is Racers Cafe connected to the hotel that serves coffee and breakfast, for about US$ 10, I don’t think it was worth it, neither breakfast or coffee was very good. Otherwise excellent, beautiful, tranquil hotel.

Wonderful experience
Probably one of the best neighborhoods to stay away from the maddening crowds of Seoul. A converted old house meticulously maintained. Be prepared however for the sound of tourists visiting the Hanok area in the morning. No other facilities except a coffee shop that serves $7 coffees. Breakfast is minimalist at the coffee shop. Service was great. Special mention to Hudzaifah and Teddy. We were upgraded to a large room with a terrace which was on the garden. The air conditioning shuts off at around 11pm. For someone who is used to a colder room it was a bother and we had to leave the terrace door open. Hopefully this changes later today in the summer season. The location of Google is not accurate. The hotel is on the main road but Maps take you to a lane behind the hotel. Had a hassle when the taxi dropped us there Overall great experience. Will stay here again.

Wonderful Stay in Historical Hanok
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hanok. The hotel grounds are well kept and peaceful. The staff, friendly and extremely hospitable and helpful. The room itself was absolutely charming, it felt as if we were stepping back in time. The Hanok was in impeccable shape and incredibly clean. The heated floors made the rooms nice and cozy.

It is a fantastic experience to live in an old Korean style house. The house is clear and tidy. My family have a great time to live here. Staffs are nice. I will come again next time back to Seoul.

Renovated beautifully and super clean, my only complaint would be that they burn this yankee candle in the lobby and in the rooms that gave me a massive headache. The breakfast is also not worth getting. The cafe serves amazing coffee though (specifically the ones that you pay for. the free one, not so good)!

Quiet, Tranquil hotel
The hotel is conveniently located near GyeongBukGung, Bukchon Hanok Village with touristy shops and restaurants nearby. (Many Hanbok rental places nearby.) The only negative is everything shuts down early in the evening, so if you are looking for nightlife nearby then this is not the place. You cannot throw the toilet paper into the toilet. Due to the age of the building and infrastructure it can clog the pipes. We were OK with this. Room is very clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. We had a patio that opened to the garden. Very nice/relaxing view. Front desk was nice and helpful. They helped us reserve a cab to pick us up at 6am on our last morning to go to the airport. They confirmed with the cab company the day before to make sure they were coming. (the front desk is closed overnight and opens at 8 am, but they have an emergency number you can call.) The breakfast was only OK. Minimal selection, but they had warm food.

Amazing hotel right in Bokchun
We loved this hotel and would love to go back. The room was amazing and staff was very helpful. The location is also great, being right in Bokchun. The restaurant across the street is also highly recommended.

Excellent in every way
Stayed here for a night at the end of May. The room was lovely-- everything fresh, new and tastefully designed, and being able to have a cup of coffee in the beautiful green space right outside my backdoor in the morning with the sun rising and birds chirping was so nice. I had a few nights booked at the Four Seasons after my night here. Next time, I will spend my entire stay at the Bonum 1957 because the location (perfect) and quality for the price (excellent) far exceed that of the Four Seasons Seoul.

Beautiful Room and great Hanoke stay
We booked one of the deluxe suites and got upgraded for free to one of the larger suites. We chose this Hanoke from the beautiful photos on hotels.com and it did not fail to impress. The staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English. With their direction, we were able to walk to downtown seoul for food and palace sight seeing during the day. We arrived here before check in time and they gladly held our bags and moved them to our room for us while we explored the city.
