"When we arrived about 5.45pm Sunday evening we could hear a lot of noise coming from the bar area . We went to our room and freshened up arriving back at the bar about 6.15pm. The bar was dominated by a group of "locals" who were worst for wear, shouting and swearing. My husband and I retreated to the terrace which was a bit cool. We asked if any managers were on duty and were told no. The staff were just youngsters and had no authority to deal with these people. We were told that the manager...

"Gorgeous location. Big room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Cosy bar and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Nice walk into the tiny village for cafe and another pub. Good value. If you’re not a dog person it’s worth noting there were a lot of guests with dogs."

"This is a beautiful hotel in all aspects! The breakfast was the nicest hotel I have had in a long while and I travel alot!! Perfectly situated for the coast, we visited Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and whitby; and for York and Harrogate. Would definately stay here again if we find ourselves in that part of the country again!!"

The lady on arrival was really welcoming, the girl looking after us for food was very attentive and the gentleman who welcomed us at breakfast was delightful. "Great location and well kept hotel. We stayed in a medium sea view room and had a great stay. The customer service was also very good. The only thing I would skip next time is the breakfast as it wasn’t to our liking. Will happily stay again. Parking is limited and very tight!"
