I took a chance and booked us a location that was off the touristy spot where all the big hotels were - so glad I did - VUE is a hidden gem. We took to walking around the Hutong neighborhoods right away, my father loved his morning walks in Houhai Park which was right behind the hotel. "Welcoming and spacious hotel which exceeded expectations. The front desk and cleaning personnel were friendly, helpful, and patient. The rooms were quite spacious. The facilities are a bit dated, but very comfortable. Water was given to us every day. There are nice amenities the room. Buffet breakfast has nice variety."

"A bit confusing at first. I'd booked the Xinjiang Hotel and they couldn't find the booking. Then referred me to the Xinjiang Plaza 100 meters away. Very frustrating when you cant find anyone that speaks English. Apart from that it was a very good place to stay. When I booked at the hotel it excluded breakfast. At the plaza the price included breakfast and was cheaper."
