"We needed to stay in the Iwakuni area to visit family. The Sun Hotel in Otake gave us a great location; easy walk to the train station for getting to Iwakuni, Miyajima Island and Hiroshima. It was also an easy walk to restaurants in Otake, and a short cab ride to Simose Art Museum. The property was well maintained, clean, and we enjoyed the Japanese breakfast buffet. The best part of the stay was the incredibly helpful, friendly, and thoughtful staff. I cannot express how wonderful they were...

"早い時間の開始で良かったが、たまたま学生グループとかち合ったので落ち着いて食事が取れなかった。できれば時間帯をずらすか、スペースがあればグループのエリアとは別にしてもらえばと思いました。また、牛乳があればなお良かったです"

"老舗ホテルで、8階の客室廊下に山本五十六大将の集合写真があり、感激しました。 少し、絵画が多すぎるようにも感じました。 夕食時の接客は、年齢が高めの女性スタッフが多く、丁寧で感じ良かったです。 温泉からの眺めは素晴らしかったのですが、館内が広く、お風呂にたどり着くまで、かなり歩くので、脚が不自由な方には少し厳しいかも　と思いました。"

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable Japanese style room with private toilet and basin. Easy access to shower and to the very relaxing traditional bathtub. Excellent Japanese breakfast with great selection of dishes from fresh local ingredients."

"The staff could barely speak English. When I arrived at 2 pm I couldn’t get my room and was not even offered to rest at the lounge. It was a rainy day and I had to kill time outside until 3 pm. Also I wasn’t told that the vanity essentials were located at the front desk and that caused inconvenience during the time I stayed at this hotel. I didn’t eat there and cannot comment on food quality but I appreciated the free and good quality coffee."

"The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff were polite and helpful. The ferry service to and from Miyajima was convenient and the views around the property were beautiful. However, the rooms felt quite dated and in need of renovation. There was also a noticeable smell throughout the room and parts of the hotel, which affected the overall comfort of our stay. Given the price, I expected more modern accommodations and a fresher atmosphere. Overall, the service and location were strong...
