"We had a large room with a private sitting out area (although it was too cold to use while we were there). Karen and her staff were very helpful and accommodating. The guest house is very central, close to where Ubers can take you and several of the palaces are close by. There is an honesty system for snacks and drinks. Breakfast was OK but with freshly made pancakes and scrambled egg and the dining area was more corridor than room. Overall very good value."

"This hotel is a piece of history. Only 8 minutes up the road to the Quinta da Regaleira. The hotel is lovely, the views are great. The breakfast was small but sufficient. The restaurant is good. The staff is very helpful and the massage was great. I would recommend calling and booking a massage in advance so you can get your preferred time. everything is aboout a 12-17 minute walk except the mountain top Pena Palace for example - uber or tuktuk to that.
