The Pack Horse is a lovely old pub with friendly staff that were most helpful. We stayed 1 night, the room was comfortable and was ideal for our stay. They also provided plenty of tea and milk which was a bonus. The only downside is they do not do food but there is a fish & chop shop or takeaway that you can order and bring into the pub to eat.

Easy parking, friendly staff, lovely room, good shower, amazing price. The decor is a tad tired and the shower needs a few minutes to get going, but otherwise all was good. What it lacked in decor, it made it for in friendliness. I'd recommend this place and will definitely stay there again.

Lovely village, friendly and helpful staff, ample free parking. Sadly no breakfast available at the Inn but manager happy for breakfast to be brought in from the village shops. Pub bar below was quiet, the room was clean and nicely laid out, but a bit tired and could do with a lick of paint to revive it. Overall good value.

The Pack Horse is a lovely place to stay. The staff are lovely, as are the pub regulars. The room was large with a huge comfy bed, all spotlessly clean and tidy. Note, they do not have a kitchen, so no food, but the staff were very helpful, pointed out all the eateries and takeaways nearby and even let me eat in the pub with a nice pint of Dartmoor Ale.

Well positioned pub for Dartmoor walks. Ideal for Estate Agent as completing on a property. Friendly staff. A mirror in bedroom near a plug would be useful for hairdryer which is not included.

We booked a deluxe en-suite double room with (according to the website) a four-poster bed. This room was no longer available and we were assigned a room which was dark and grubby. We were also informed that there would be no food available ("don't do food anymore"), despite breakfast and evening meals being offered on the website. The staff were very apologetic and stated that there was new ownership and they couldn't access/manage the website. We expressed our dissatisfaction and requested that the booking should be cancelled and the cost refunded to the credit card. This was expedited and we left the inn. If the website has not been updated recently, then don't believe the details which are being stated.

Very comfy bed... clean room and nice tea tray. Shower takes a moment to get working but probably as the building is old but this gives it charm. Will definitely stay again :-)

Good ‘ol Pack Horse Inn

I was staying so I could visit family in Bittaford and Ivybridge so location for me was brilliant. It’s a nice little inn with lots of character and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again definitely.

I actually really enjoyed my stay at the Pack Horse. The staff at reception were really friendly & helpful. It was peaceful & private & clean & comfortable, although basic, reflecting the modest price. But it wasn’t the room we were shown online when we booked & no food was available - as stated on the website.

Beautifully comfortable bed and fantastic shower. Friendly welcome, good atmosphere in bar and great tapas. However, someone might like to attend to the roof of the building directly below bedroom 1, which offers unexpected views.

Another stay at The Packhorse and we were not disappointed. The new management are welcoming and friendly. We loved the Italian night menu on Thursday, receiving a first rate meal. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Many thanks.
