COVID-19 has triggered huge changes to how we travel. If you're planning a trip to South Rim, the following tips will help you navigate the "new normal:"

• Know what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check before you book your flight.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask for ID verification when asked.
• To reduce the potential of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee.
• TSA now permits passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your belt, phone and wallet into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
