"I struggled to get my booking to like to the Millie’s app initially and had to message them. I was given a totally different code to use to the one that I was sent initially; but they did respond quickly in the in app chat so no really drama. Then easy to check in and add a key to Apple wallet. Bed was really comfy, bathroom was clean and a good shower. The TV supposedly lets you cast whatever you want to stream from your phone to it, but I could only get YouTube to work so that was irritating. And there isn’t a kettle in the room, so you have to get up and dressed in the morning to go down the corridor to a communal hot tap. I’d rather have a kettle. Dyson hair dryer a nice touch. There were also some GHD straighteners, but after pressing the timer switch, I couldn’t get them to switch on, they just beeped at me for 10 minutes. The food in the Diner was really tasty, and not too long to wait. Buffalo wings are huge and tasty, burger was delicious. Sadly the staff in the restaurant were not very attentive. I was given a warm beer, it was swapped with no question, but took a while to flag someone down. And then took a long time to get the bill at the end for both dinner and breakfast. Lots of walking around without looking at the customers. Overall, a nice stay. I would stay again, but I think a few things that could be improved. Good value overall."

"Efficient check-in. Decent room (very clean) with well-designed interior. Free breakfast a real bonus and staff in the dining area very proficient in keeping the place clean. Front desk could be a little more welcoming when coming in/out. A ‘hello’ or ‘bye’ adds a lot."

"Room was not clean on arrival with Malteser and popcorn wrappers in draw. Mirrors not clean on sliding wardrobe and bathroom needed to be cleaned around toilet room, with a constant tap drip! Staff were excellent when approached! The ladies in the Spa were all very good as well as the bar staff!"

"Beautifully positioned on the edge of the lake, the hotel is a great place to relax. The rooms are well appointed and slightly larger than the average hotel room. Very comfortable bed. We were offered a lakeside view room when we arrived for an extra £30 and it was well worth the extra. We would come again."

"All of the staff were very helpful but especially the barman and restaurant staff. I had an excellent meal in the restaurant, and a great night's sleep. The room was comfortable but I spent precious little time in it to want much more out of the room itself. My single, solitary criticism is a very picky one. There was a hand rail to get into the bath/shower but not one to assist the reverse process. This required a careful balancing act but I descended safely. Thus, a safety rail placed parallel with the rail, which contains the towels might be of benefit to assist those, who like me suffer from arthritis, to exit after bathing or showering. I did not go to the cocktail bar before or after dinner because I was bushed but I will return to Bristol and make sure that I sample its wares."

"Very Central with everything we wanted within short walking distance. Bars Restaurants, Music & Comedy Clubs. The Old Vic is a must. Very well equipped rooms. I will return to the Clayton Hotel here on our next visit."

"Plenty of parking, friendly staff, brilliant location, nice rooms and brilliant amenities. Only small issue was the car park beside attracts silly kids with loud exhausts into the evening… but nothing a closed window didn’t solve."
