The Bull Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western
8/10 Good
"rooms were a good size, with 2 armchairs! Always a plus. Breakfast was a buffet on day 1 but on day2 they cancelled and we had to order what we wanted. Hotel is central and the parking is excellent and free. "

Park Inn by Radisson Peterborough
6/10 Okay
"The bathroom was very much rundown with a broken shower and it didn't feel clean.
I also requested a disabled access room which was not honoured."

Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa
6/10 Okay
"The “hotel” is really a series of separate buildings spread out across a large site. There is no central location to meet for drinks/ coffee. The only restaurant is at the top of a hill (accessed by steep stairways/roads ). There appeared to be some golf buggies but it was not clear how these could be accessed.
The restaurant was large and cafeteria-like, lacking in atmosphere. There was a restricted menu; no room service available (you have to collect your meal) and I was told at 4.15 that they stopped serving afternoon tea at 4pm ( which is exactly when most people would want it).
The room was clean and well decorated but it was very dimly lit and had minimal toiletries ( no shower cap/tissues). At just over £200 a night for a standard double room it was not great value."

The Talbot Hotel, Oundle, Northamptonshire
10/10 Excellent
"Historic building, spacious room with all amenities, comfortable bed, and excellent breakfast. Very enjoyable stay."

Orton Hall Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Good and green location"

The Haycock Manor Hotel
8/10 Good
"Our room had a very comfortable bed and pillows and the decor was calm and stylish.
The bathroom was also very smart. There was a large mirror in the bedroom for me to do my make up but no plug socket nearby for the hairdryer or my hot brush. One strange thing was there was no light switch for the bathroom, the light seemed to come on automatically at times and also go off just as randomly leaving you in the complete dark! It also meant that we had to take the room key out of the main point by the door in order to stop the bathroom light from staying on through the night. This is a beautiful hotel, each public room very elegantly and differently styled and Wansford is a really pretty village."

The Dukes Head Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Our room was very clean and nice . It was on the first floor above the lobby /toilets which has piped music from 7.30am until late into the evening which could be heard all day in our room. It was also positioned in the alley side of the building next to the pub which is also noisy . So maybe not the hotel to stay in if you’re hoping for a quiet get away . "

Oliver Cromwell Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"Where do I start! Basically, I stay in hotels quite a bit, and this is my first ever negative experience since using hotel.com. The receptionist came across as unfriendly. While walking to my room, the hallway smelled like someone had been smoking in their room, and the smell lingered around the corridor. The carpets were dirty, with bits of small rubbish on the floor. Upon entering the room, I found the floor still dirty with small debris around. I went into the bathroom, which was very grimy; hopefully, you can see my pictures. I checked around the room, and there was dust and dirt everywhere; hopefully, the pictures will show you the dirt. I certainly didn't have my evening meal here; I was completely put off. For breakfast, all I wanted was scrambled eggs on toast, but I was told we only do fried eggs. The glass I picked up nearly cut my tongue as it was badly chipped. The shower was awful, with no power, and it just dripped out; for me, it was terrible. I will 100% never stay here again. When leaving in the morning, I wasn't even asked, "How was your stay?" I simply gave him my room card and walked out; I didn't say anything, nor did the receptionist.
The only positive was the empty free car park at the hotel; I wonder why it was empty!"

Cley Hall Hotel
8/10 Good
"The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was 1st rate - having been upgraded to an executive room!
The general feelfid not come over as a 4* establishment eg Staff attire was very casual and at times slovenly."
