"The room and the entire hotel was clean and comfortable. The gym (handful of cardio machines and a resistance weight-training machine) and pool are both small, but given we went during the off-season, we always had it to ourselves. Free breakfast was good."

"The room was okay. There were a few hairs in the bedding but other than that it was okay. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was a complete joke which i knew it would be do to other reviews i had read before we stayed there. Plan on eating breakfast at the Qwik Star next door. "

"A very budget motel with some units rented as apartments. I woke many times when the old refrigerator kicked in. It was a load death rattle to be sure. Also, late night activity in the parking lot until midnight. I looked out to see somebody in a pickup truck unloading furniture outside of a nearby room. Crazy. Not the best place to get a restful nights sleep."

I didn't like the fact that we couldn't control the room temperature ourselves, we had to text the owner to raise or lower the heat, and it was cold for awhile in the room when we arrived. Also, the location is not as close to the main street as described in the overview -- more than a block to the main street where shop and restaurants are. "We’ve been staying at Grant Hills for years. The rooms aren’t fancy, though are very clean and comfortable. We like the option to bring our pups with if we choose. The cost of a two night stay is many times less than one night in other Galena hotels. It’s always very quiet and there is a walking path not far away. "
