"Nice hotel - excellent food"

"These people are not interested in their guests and do not deserve anyone's custom. Apart from the barman, the owners completely ignored us on arrival while huddled around a table with their backs to us. We had travelled over 200 miles to get there, having booked many weeks ago and paid for They left us standing there for over 40 minutes with no explanation as to why we were still waiting for the key to our room. "I appreciate this is a eco hotel but for the price paid it was unacceptable levels of heat. They say that there is an air filtering system. It was absolutely boiling and uncomfortable. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. You have to go outside to get this to be honest with you when you have a short breakaway you just would like to have reasonable facilities in your room. We had to queue for the lift. I would definitely not recommend a stay stop here"

"Very good value accommodation in Exeter. Very much what you would expect as this is normally student accommodation (don't expect luxury). Check-in process is pretty straightforward and staff helpful. Best to drop your bags at reception area then move your car to parking as it is not too close. Bed was very comfortable. Kettle with coffee & tea in room. Little fridge as well. Breakfast was overall excellent with self serve cooked food (but avoid the fruit juices - awful)."

"We were asked to book a breakfast time slot on arrival, so we selected 8:30–9:00. However, when we went down that morning, all the doors were locked and there was no staff present. We tried every contact number provided, including the delivery and service numbers advertised, but received no answer or callback. "Caro the host was lovely and friendly and very hospitable. The old Manor House is beautiful set in rolling countryside. The bedroom was large, beds were comfortable and good shower. Caro provides an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Would defo visit again. The Globe Inn nearby does good food and the staff and locals were good fun."
