"This place is just very tired. Furnishings were worn out, curtains had holes in them and were stained. Even the lamp sconces along the hallways were all cracked. Literally every single shade was cracked with age. We were there for a week and the entire time only one elevator was operational.
The staff was wonderful and friendly. You could tell they were doing their best with a property that is underwhelming. Spoke with one of the front desk attendants and asked if any of the rooms had...

"The rooms are very nice and spacious! Bathroom was very clean and a nice size shower. They provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand wash! The breakfast was the best I have ever had! A very nice variety of choices. The cinnamon rolls and bacon were so delicious! The staff were all very nice and helpful! I highly recommend everyone to stay at the Holiday Inn Express off of Hwy 99 Elk Grove CA!!"
