"Clean room, friendly staff "

"The rooms on the property are tiny, they look bigger in the pictures! The rooms are dated & dirty. I'm not sure we were actually clean after getting showered. The floor was gritty under foot and there were other people's hair all over the bathroom floor. There were a lot of mixed messages as well. When booking its advised that you can check in from 3 but check in forms we received implied you can't check in before 5. Breakfast was another mix of messages with staff not being clear either....

"The place feels more like a halfway house than a hotel. No shampoo or soap in the bathroom, room is tiny, bed is absolutely awful. Check on was basic and the whole thing feels poorly handled. Stay elsewhere if you can, the only plus is it’s near the station, but yeah, it’s a dump. "

"This was the second time I'd stayed at Mitchell Hall . It was very reasonably priced. It is a lovely building with lots of free parking. The en-siuite rooms are clean and offer tea/coffee making, a small tv, wardrobe, hangers and lots of electric sockets. The location needs a car to access it, as it's a bit out of the way (11 miles to Bedford) but there are some lovely rural villages nearby. It offers a great breakfast - unfortunately this time, breakfast was not included; a deal with breakfast...

"Charming but in need of updating. Peaceful area and a nice hour's stroll (or less) into the attached Manor Park and its lovely pinetum. It was very muddy and boggy in the park in February, wellies are a must! Our room (12) was classed as a 'superior' but I don't think that was warranted. I've seen far nicer rooms on the website, perhaps we drew the short straw. We had a double bed which felt small, these days I like a king in a superior room.
