"This motel is in a VERY dangerous area of Edmonton!! We ended up leaving and booking else-where. DO NOT stay here of you have children.. I wouldn't have even stayed if my kids weren't with me. The parking lot and building was surrounded by obviously high/intoxicated groups of ppl. My 13 year old daughter was harassed walking from our car and there is no security- anyone can just walk in! There was also blood in the bathroom on the wall.. as soon as we saw the room we left, I expressed we did not...

"The rooms are very basic, clean, comfortable bed, very affordable with restrooms and showers down the hall. If you simply require a place to sleep in the Whyte Ave. neighbourhood, the Commercial is a good option. The historic pub downstairs is a bonus. Lots of dining spots within a couple of blocks, plus the nearby Farmers Market, bookshops, and many great local businesses. "

"My family and I stayed here this weekend. I had other families book the same hotel because the location was great for us and the price was awesome. I looked at their pictures and the booked mainly because it looked clean and had a free breakfast (which is important for us families on the go for sports) so we went there and boy were we completely surprised by the exterior, it looked dingy. The lobby was ok but needs some maintenance. We checked in only to find out we were on the third floor and...

"Room was very rundown and unclean. Not all surfaces wiped down. No vacuuming or cleaning done near heater or baseboards. Hairdryer did not work. Was given another but it was not properly secured to the wall. Coffee maker also didn't work and needed to be replaced. The carpet is so old a stained with obvious sticky places, I did not feel safe going barefoot. Bed was comfortable."

"The faucet system is weak in BOTH the sink and shower. You hear noises in the rooms mechanisms when you try to sleep, there is no lock on the outside of the hotel room door. The crime situation is bad as well. I saw police in the parking lot when I exited for check out. Unless you have absolutely no care for the quality of your room to a savagely extent, don’t even look at the place, let alone stay here. "

"The Hotel in general was very clean. Staff - incredible! Room also really clean except the old carpet, which we always keep our pool sandals on anyway. Breakfast was great. The pool area was lovely too."

"The price was amazing and I even received a 25% of for another visit. The property is in need of care. And sadly there is not restaurant during the week when it would have been so great. The rugs all over excluding the room (was good+) for the price, though the tv was poor. I would stay again. Simply because as a Government of Alberta employee it would save the tax payer alot of money. Unfortunately, I would still consider others."
