Check in was slow because the rooms were not ready (although we arrived way past 2.00 pm) and we were only given an extra bed on the 2nd day. The rest were ok - breakfast aplenty and kitchen staff were very helpful. Perfect location (public transport just across the hotel). Will stay again for sure.

one rude staff and fouls smell in the lobby

Overall a bad stay. The foul smell in the lobby and hallway just the beginning of my unsatisfaction. Most of the staff are ok but one rude staff ruins the ok reputations.

I am a business traveler and my reason to come to Surabaya is for an important meeting at the Port of Tanjung Perak. I chose Ibis Rajawali because it is close to my location of meeting. For the hotel rate, I was pleasantly surprised at the facilities in the room. Internet access was also available for free.

What you pay is what u get

Been here for 4 days. Location is good as its very near to JMP however during night time very quiet and can say like a ghost town. The buffet is highly not recommended as it is not nice at all and very limited choices. The room is just fine. Its a budget hotel so dont expect more. The salon at the lobby is also not that good as their service very slow and they dont even have the curler and the basic equipment whereby a salon must have.

Nice hotel and great service

On a budget, this was the best hotel we stayed at during our 60 day trip in Indonesia. Very clean and quite spacious room. Nice bathroom. The personel was very helpful, and the service at the restaurant was good. We only stayed one night, and we did not venture around the neighbourhood, so cant say much about the location.

Not Excellent but Above Average

My stay at Ibis Surabaya Rajawali was just average. However, I would return to the hotel if it was the same rate. The room and amenities were average. Nothing to shout about. However, it was just nice and sufficient for a short stay. However, I really liked the location of the hotel. It was near many points of interest (eg. House of Sampoerna, Chinatown etc.), Giant Hypermarket and a textile market. In addition, I thought that their staff members, especially their cafe waiters and waitresses, provided really good service. Their food at the cafe was excellent as well and I really enjoyed their Indonesian-style satay.
