"A rather interesting concept for a hotel and the reconfiguration of the rooms from cells to ensuite rooms were fantastic. The retention of all the original features and the maintenance of the castle is outstanding and its location in relation to the Town Centre is perfect. The Staff were very polite and helpful and the room was spotless. I stayed there for a Caribbean Tourism Event and there was a function hosted on the 3rd Floor in a lovely room with a massive screen. All well presented ad the lunch was quite tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and the invited guest expressed the same sentiments."

"Stopped for one night basically had very little sleep due to noisy arguing/fighting people in a room by ours till the early hours of the morning when it suddenly stopped ( not sure if they got kicked out or they killed each other) although this is not the hotels fault - the walls are paper thin and can easily hear people talking never mind loudly arguing and fighting bouncing off the walls !! The mattress was very hard (but down to personal preference) Hotel was clean and tidy Breakfast was very good Just a shame we had no sleep due idiots"

"Good location and hotel for our overnight stopover on the way to North Devon. The room was spacious and twin beds very comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional. Unfortunately the shower was poor very low water pressure and temperature control was difficult. Not enough tea bags and milk in the room for two people, 1 bag each. Yes you can go to reception and get more but should be at least 4 tea bags and enough milk for two people to have two hot drinks each in my opinion. The decor and carpets in the public areas look a bit tired. The hotel has a small indoor pool and gym which we didn’t use but looked pretty good."
