"Staff excellent, hotel excellent, dinner menu quite restricted unless vegetarian or fish eater, wine not my choice and not what is normally given for Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio. Breakfast excellent. Room large very clean with beautiful views."

"Bed was very comfortable. Staff excellent . Breakfast was good. The breakfast was made to order. The breakfast service was rushed and although the staff were most pleasant. It would have been served better as a buffet style. Parking was great."

"The bathrooms are extremely grubby, shower cubicles filled with grime, we were booked in for 4 nights, the 1st night we didn't pay much attention to the place (we were knackered), the next morning we couldn't believe just how filthy the place was ! Spoke to management about getting a refund on the 1st night and we'd consider moving rooms, upon looking at other rooms they weren't much better. The management weren't able to make any decisions so had to call the owner (Carlton i believe he was called), who refused any offer we came up with. From chatting to staff they've spoken about the rooms needing refurbished but the owner has always refused. In summary...great staff,absolutely stinking rooms."

"Very poor. The list could be endless. One TV Channel even after phoning to get the TV fixed. No phone so had to use my own phone to call reception. No WiFi No fridge. No robes. One biscuit packet. No safe. Very tired. A poor experience. This hotel lives on its attraction to the golf course not patrons who might expect a good hotel. Dreadful."

"Stayed one night when attending a wedding in the castle. Can only recommend on my visit. Looked after by Cathy from arrival until breakfast next morning. Had dinner at Crown hotel a few mins from hotel and 10% discount on food was applied for hotel guests. Mind flash the key fob to let them know before the bill is on table. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast was served and tea/ coffee top ups were no trouble if asked for. Recommend the Kirkstyle if staying in the area."
