"Excellent stop for travellers who want value for money"

"The room was in the attic with a very low ceiling, and we kept hitting our heads on it. The room was also extremely small, making it quite uncomfortable to stay in. The shower water was cold, which was very disappointing. On the positive side, the food was genuinely delicious and was the best part of our stay. Overall, despite the good food, the room conditions and facilities made this a disappointing experience."

"A lovely house in a beautiful location should’ve given us a wonderful holiday but it was far from the 4 star anniversary experience we were hoping for after a very difficult year for my wife & I. We had to be moved from our room due to the shower tray not draining but there were old coffee stains on the skirting board, tablecloth & curtains, not to mention stains on one of the “clean” towels. "We enjoyed a lovely one night stay at Agents House. We were met with a very warm welcome from the owners and were made to feel instantly at home. The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice of home cooked dishes. Location is excellent, on a quiet back road and only a few miles from Hay on Wye. Thoroughly recommended"

"Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time."

Very disappointed to find the pool out of order after our long drive, guess we should have rang ahead. Bedroom ok, bed & bedding good. "Very peaceful, lovely private garden patios with a stream running past and lots of bird song. Inside, the cottage is equally serene and well thought out, with lots of windows, plentiful hooks in the bathroom and a great walk in shower, as well as a clean and spacious kitchen and living room. And the location is perfect, with easy access to all the hiking trails and castles. We loved our stay in this cottage. Perfect!"
