"Easy check in despite contactless. Easy to get in touch with a human when there was an issue. Friendly person on phone. Room was nice in that it had a separate living room area/kitchen that could be useful for longer stays. Floor was sticky so had to wear shoes and when we rinsed our shoes off, they were black with something. Window blind broken so couldn't raise up/down. Needs updating. Good enough for the area, I guess. Road noise as it it right on the main road. We were asked to wash our own dishes but given nothing to wash/dry them with."

"Enjoying the hot tub after a busy day at pictured rocks was great. The bed was comfortable. The shower/bathroom was very nice. The deluxe breakfast was well done. My only complaint is the pleather chairs need replacement in room 230. This would be an easy fix. Other than this minor detail, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"This is a great no frills Northwoods motel. If you just need a clean place to stay while adventuring, this is your spot. Things we loved: -In room coffee -Wi Fi -Updated rooms -Well kept property grounds -Self check in -Strong water pressure -In unit air conditioning Things that could use attention: -Mini fridge small freezer cubicle leaks water and food items will be soaked -Bathroom fan does not do much for getting moisture out (and lots of dust build up at the intake) -No peep hole in door to check who is knocking -No secondary interior door lock for security (a single deadbolt secured the door) The big question is whether we would stay here again: ABSOLUTELY!!"

"Historic Birch Lodge and Motel is a hidden gem. We stayed in the Lodge during our stay. The owner escorted us to our room while giving us the history of the building. Plenty of common areas to visit in with family and play games. Extremely nice room and bathroom, with great square footage. Comfortable bed and linens. The environment is peaceful and calm, and outdoor activities to add to your visit."
