"Room was spacious and very clean. Grounds were clean. We were initially concerned about it being pet friendly - everything was spotlessly clean, and it was quiet too. Good sized refrigerator too. Fully stocked kitchenette. Staff very friendly and helpful. Soap, shampoo and conditioner were not good. We were happy with our stay at the Barefoot Mailman and would stay again."

"Not only was this room not cleaned before we checked in, the sink was broken, there was no toilet paper, and we had to call the front desk over 5 times just to get a response. There was food crumbs everywhere on the floor, a shoe foot print in the tub, and the comforter reeked of someone else’s cologne. Do not recommend this place."

"Older facility with updated amenities, clean and well maintained. Price was very reasonable and the pool was also well maintained. Staff was friendly and there was a continental breakfast. Convenient to all shops, beaches and restaurants. I wasn't too happy with the noise from the a/c unit and that it didn't have a mirror other than at the sink."

"Price was great and 1 block from beach. Definitely could use updating the rooms with carpet it's very old paint chipping everywhere and bathrooms look like there from the 80s. Pool area could be cleaner but overall experience was good"

"It’s pretty equal to the nightly cost. But the bathrooms were very old looking, the shower had long fake hair stuck to the tile wall and in tub. Bed frame was very flimsy but mattress was comfortable enough for a good nights sleep. I had a room with a kitchette but it had almost nothing useful to cook or eat with. No room service the first two days I was there (so no new towels, no trash disposal, no hand towels, no soap or sponge for the kitchen sink. No broom or vacuum to clean up any sand...

"I did not like anything. I had too go next door to sign in. I guess there was no staff at the Empress. The room smelled awefull. I had to go buy Lysol for the smell and the whole room smelled this way. I would never go back and stay there"

"If you need a place to stay near the beach but don’t want to spend money on anything crazy this is where you go, Staff is great and helpful even upgraded me an hour check out which was great and also parking is included which is awesome ! So I would definitely recommend this place 100% right in front of the boardwalk and beach !"
