The space was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with basic cooking items, though spices were minimal. "Had an unexpected stop in Staunton, VA due to tire problems… booked the Blackburn Inn last minute to stay over and get van new tires. Pulled up and thought we were at wrong place. A beautiful historic colonial building looked like a college campus but was the Blackburn Inn. I researched and found out it used to be a hospital built in 1800’s. "Staff was helpful for our very late check in and got us to our room. Unfortunately, room had a really bad smell. There was an ionizer in the room that was not plugged in when I asked about it, I was told it should have been removed and given a bottle of Lysol to spray in the room. In fairness I could have switched rooms but due to how late just wanted to get some sleep. The room smelled like someone probably was smoking in it. Maybe the reason for the ionizer."
