"Literally opposite Aso train station if arriving by train. Has plenty of parking and less than thirty minutes drive to the volcano visitors center. Feels brand new in 2025. Realistically you are going to need a car to have options for dinner etc."

"Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. ..."
