Firstly this was not an arranged stay as stranded due to trains. I thought as the name sounded quite regal and over £100 a night this hotel was a decent stay.....i was mistaken. The staff were amazing and very accommodating but i need to emphasize the room we had was not the same standard as some rooms i had seen on going into the hotel. We had a family room consisting of a double and single bed. The family room only had 1 mini sofa and the room was large but i had to sit on the bed as kids only fit on the small ikea sofa. The childrens wardrobe Ikea again would be too smal for a longer stay. The room on the 2nd floor which had no lift, my fault for not checking but only saw this after the booking otherwise i would not of stayed, it was also at the front on the main road which was very noisy and i could not open the window due to more noise. The hotel is old and has creaky floorboards so we were all woken at 1 am by the occupant above moving around. The fridge in the room made noises too. The room was run down and dated. All white seemed too clinical, wires of extensions leads everywhere, 1 which was around the bathroom door was hanging. The carpet was worn and the single bed was missing 2 wheels so was angled. The bathroom smelt of Urine, toilet roll holder loose, the shower holder was broken so you had to hold the shower to shower which was hard with children. No breakfast included in the price so this was very expensive and not worth the money.
