Wairakei Resort Taupo
The resort is a bit run down. The floors squeak when you walk but the worse thing was the bartender. He was making "jokes" about gullible Americans. He knew we were from America and the jokes weren't funny. We found him to be very rude. Otherwise, the staff we encountered were okay.

The Oasis Beach Motel is a poor cousin to the Millennium Hotel (which owns it) next door. It has a beautiful lakeside location, but you need a lakeside unit before you get to enjoy that view. Lakeland Resort Taupo
The place was very clean and location very handy!the staff were helpful ! The place is somewhat outdated and needs some fixer ups to help but otherwise put together well. Signage was falling apart and new paint and carpet is helpful.
